2nd day at CAT in North Wales

The use of slate
Within this quarry
Evidence of soul
It’s natural and organic
Nature’s in control
It’s just the living landscape
And CAT has shown the way
By using it for building
A vibrant part of every day
And night, and it produces
A valid skin that we
Visitors can marvel at
Constructed avidly

A backdrop for creative verve
Walls and pathways stand
The course of time
They roll and climb
Fashioned off the land
It really is appealing
To the heart and to the eye
With all its myriad uses
Which I think is why

Its use is really perfect
It’s soft and says it all
THe slate At CAT and how it’s used
Proves to me they are on the ball
The plant ways the construction
The focus and the power
The energy
The synergy
Is with us every hour

The vibrancy is telling
It’s thrilling to be sure
It’s everything you could imagine
Right outside your door
And the people
They are caring
Sharing
Daring
Faring well
They teach
They reach
The root the stalk the leaves the flower
The store

Of vital information
Spreads outdoors and beyond
It really is a vital place
It’s as if a magic wand
Is used but
Dedication and hard work
Just graft and soul
A coming together
Of great ideas
It’s togetherness
A role

Each really gives to others
Inspires them to take part
CAT is here
And it’s very clear
It’s because it is all heart
It’s everything to everyone
It works with Nature to
Give back and share experiences
Which are workable and true

You can feel it’s tried and tested
It’s like a symphony
It’s artistic
It’s realistic
It’s where I want to be
I am old now
But the tendrils of youth
Remind me, I
Can go home tomorrow
With a twinkle in my eye

The need for me to bother
With some compost
With some will
To give back to Mother Earth
Some value and to instil
In others to sow a seed or two
Inspire my youth again
Not grumble about Chem trails
Or showers of acid rain
Get out there and be positive
Grass cuttings now I know
With Cotton towels and knowledge

That I can make and grow
A compost that is vibrancy itself
For me to show
A living organic medium
Fashioned by me alone
Old and tired and full of aches
Something I wouldn’t have known

If I had not visited CAT
So go there and be inspired as I was
