With scant regard for life
A dog is hung up in a park
Beside a busy roadway
A blow lamp lit
A mark
of irreverence and insult
An affront to all aware
For animals, these monsters
In CHINA do not care
They talk up the adrenaline
And fear,as the victim feels
As its cries enter our psyche
As its sorrow it reveals
The awelessness and supreme disdain
The unworthiness of man
Despicable in every way
Them and all their clan
Conscience they don’t have one
They cannot have one, they
Are so devious and complicit
To the horrors of the day
Setting out to torture
And make it last a while
In the hope that it improves
The flavour, how can they reconcile?
Sadism with its agony its woeful
Frightening end
Burned to death
Its stolen breath
ANUBIS must defend
And will do it in broad daylight
When they are taken out
They will see
Perhaps a fatal car crash
Or be crushed internally
And if they go to anywhere
Let it be to purgatory
The animal was lamenting
At the improbity of men
Such nefarious behaviour
When I began to pen
There were passers by in taxi’s
Walking too and fro
I believe a child was watching
So horrible I know!
I. Do not make excuses
For the horror now on show
YOU Think about what you eat
And how it died and know
Behind closed doors in slaughterhouses
Animals suffer so
No living soul wants to meet death
Or go out with a glow
Of petrol fumes no animals
No miracle of life
No sentient soul
Should ever be
Subjected to such strife
Then to imagine it is eaten
Squabbled over by
These blackguards
These confounded monsters
Who have, no idea why
I call them this I hate their guts
Their deep improbity
On an animal so innocent
Whose joy with us could be
So graceful playing in the park
Rather than burned to death
Fighting sinfulness and injustice
By managing its last breath.
Thank you for these powerful words.
