A portrait of a Lion

Look at me
Look into my eyes
And what do you see
Just one pair of eyes
I reckon
But what these old eyes see

Is Africa disappearing
Our habitat is going
And this should be your wake up call
Like the river its not flowing
I scramble on the river bank
A few pools all thats left
And I am from the famous Massinda tribe
feeling bereft

The aridness is worrying
We are losing
our identity
And all this is true
And a deep sadness from my heart
Which some are clueless too
Transcending the reality
Our supremacy once was
A place of regent wonderment
And now really because

Man un kind is at it
There is no order anymore
Its conformity or nothing
We are numbers now for sure
We are an ephemerality
And fragility thats all
We are now flying fugitives
Expected when they call

Posterity might see us
Stuffed in some American place
Our bones shipped off to china
Ground up and the disgrace
Of being taken orally
By the sick Chinese who
Imagine that our powdered bone
Is their permanence come true
