Tiger

Tiger Tiger smouldering hot
Captivity no not a lot
The vivacity and the high regard
Lost for me and for the bard
The wretchedness of loneliness
Of caged captivity and so much stress
No prey to chase no trees to climb
Being bang on the edge of time

Tiger Tiger what do you say
Being on the edge all day
Struggling with this rotten zoo
With no where to go
And nothing to do
No sunshine to lay out in
To be in the flow
Really its just like
A fucking death blow

Tiger Tiger please can I
Get out of here
And see the sky
The sounds of the birds
And the cicada’s song
Up against this wall
Everything’s wrong

Tiger Tiger bored to tears
Such frustration it appears
Just your shadow you can see
It is no place for you to be
Man unkind a senseless brute
He is your problem at the root
How he sees you how he cares
Whilst carrying on his own affairs

Tiger Tiger smouldering hot
What a life sadly you have got
Where there should be light there is dark
No where can you make your mark
Senseless humans that they are
Outside you are one big star
But here depressed inside this cage
You are smouldering hot so in a rage

Someone somewhere rescue him
His nutrition is a whim
He is fading fast on white meat, he
Cant be sustained just cannot be
No wonder he stands by the fence
Really trying to make sense
Of his life behind these bars
With all the ensuing human scars
