purgatory

They put them on trial
For their lives every moment
Away from the great guillotine
The slaughterhouse favourite
Bloodied and blunted
Behold as the doors open
The vilest scene

Can you still breathe
Can your lungs take this acridness
Its burning your nostrils
And tearing your throat
Thousands of chickens
Pissing and shitting
And sitting and witnessing
What is a boat

Load of vileness aforethought
Its hard to explain this
A great sea of feathers
Each one has a heart
It is a miracle of true creation
Wasted by men at each corporate cart
That breaks in the innocent so very quickly
Turns a sweet female into a dark sore
A refuge for maggots that cant stand the carpets
This is the hell that arrives in your store

Lifeless of course all the guts torn to ribbons
The fast growing flesh on such a massive trip
The organs cant stand this hormonal disaster
The heart of course gives out the arteries rip
From a fluffy wee chick from the egg of creation
They become monsters in their own right and they
Suffer their beatings their stompings their tossings
Broken necks twisted its just all the way
There never is peace in this fucking tsunami
If you got locked inside you’d be dead in a day

It is confrontational all of this suffering
The squawking the shrill screams that the deaf now can hear
It just feels like punishment but what have they done wrong
These poor frantic lost souls living in fear
Its a vile crucifixion for every wee bird
Thrust on a cross throats torn off maybe
Wretched prostration its no salvation
To be part of great throbbing adversity

Then its the hormones and the growth enhancers
The falsity surfaces as bodies grow
Much much too big for their hearts and their livers
Hearts give out often as those in the know
Who stomp on them toss them in heaps every which way
Even the maggots are not keen to be
Down on the floor in the shit and the urine
And The bodies of dead souls who will never be free

And so many of you eat chicken daily
These tortured souls who scream out that they
Are being tortured and sent to obscurity
Not to the rainbow bridge so they now say
Where are our blessings for the other species
Where is our love for creation today
What are we part of you great chicken scoffers
You could be stopping this
Why do you pay

To have people torture to have people violent
To creAte the blood rivers that flow on the floor
The sinew the maggots the evil the ugly
This is not humane no not anymore
Don’t talk about discounts don’t talk about prices
These corporate hell holes produce seas of guilt
As I go to my bed hoping that I will find slumber
Not tossed into a basket with those who now wilt
More and more piled on the top of us screaming
Flapping their damaged wings suffering so
I hope to god it is not there where I end up
For this rotten feathery blankets no quilt
I want on my body no never again
this is the mother of all nightmares actually
Lost in a sea of undoubtable pain
