Orangutans and the palm oil

We live up in the canopy
To fly is our embrace
Through the viridescent light
Up there we stay the pace
Married to forever
On our creeper swings
Through the emerald forest
That paradise just brings

The loggers came with treachery
Their scything saws and tools
Hacking through the precious parts
The great work horse of fools
Down the trees are tumbling
Crashing one and all
And down we fall remarkably
Like an all important wall

All manner of bright colours
A kaleidoscope of light
The cerulean blueness
Of butterflies in flight
The floridness of cyclamen
Bursting to the sky
Each rusty glowing mantle
That wanders down from high

We Orangutans are chiefly
Up there just as high
Where all the pigments in the spectrum
Live their lives and die
Our great big eyes like islands
In a sea of night do stare
Out into oblivion
That all the families share

The loggers are a menace
They do the corporate thing
They rupture and they just destroy
And severally bring
So much down upon us
The wish for Palm is great
They will destroy this planet
We have only to wait

Fires rage every which way
Smoke the blast of cloud
The absurdity of concealment
Of course they all stand proud
As everywhere is blackened
The miss teachings of those who
Were ignorant of wonderment
And all that it could do

We fall we clamber downwards
Our hair singed to a crisp
We learn the ways of man un kind
The great will o the wisp
There then not there nit there
Then there with their JCB’s
Tearing up the forests
Till we are on our knees

Stuck in some wheelbarrow
The victims of the blaze
Some had been pets earlier
Just a passing phases
Others when our mothers died
Or were injured by those men
We were lost we felt for sure
Stolen from our den

Now we are in a sanctuary
Wheeled about the gain
The women of the local village
Help us we refrain
From leaving for they feed us
And bring us back to health
We feel somewhat fortunate
To share in their great wealth

Palm oil those plantations
Are dark such shadow cast
An evil kind of light force
Reminds me of the past
Rats and snakes do creep and crawl
The eagle to can fly
This is not the place to be
Underneath the sky
