Jericho and Cecil

Animal earthlings they all have souls
They all have feeling too
They have feelings for other earthling breeds
More so than me or you
Ego’s and mass coercion
A corporate numbing exists
Through our air our water and our food supplies
A dumbing down clearly persists

Animals should be our mentors
Their existence is instinctively sound
They live where they are put
And eat what they know
And know every inch of the ground
They form lasting friendships
And know of the human
The tribe who encroaches and kills
They know this and try very hard
To avoid an encounter
For therein blood spills

The anguish of losing A partner though
Is much of the same as we feel
That anguish that grief and that sorrow
That mournfulness it is for real
They understand life and death
Only we
Are as ignorant somehow to say
That animals really were created so we
Could bloody well blow them away

We could torture them, eat them
Put them in farms, in CAFO’s
And laboratories where they
would undergo Such vile treatment we know
And with their lives then they could pay

The total uneasiness and fretting
And all of that dreadful concern
Of course Jericho is feeling it now
Thats something we better learn
Those hunters like Palmer such arrogance rules
They are a negligent vile bunch of fools
Willing to slaughter their teachers at will
They see their control as a wonderful skill

Anyone close to the animals knows
Their grief is important but much more it shows
How heavy-laden they are how care-worn
How they weep by themselves that their friend
Has been torn
From their side, from their life, from their
Soul as it were
That mortification we ought to concur

For Palmer and others they have lost their way
Their arrogance startles it makes others pay
Their blood is so caked up and they make so much phlegm
Their state of unconsciousness it just does stem
From their evil unfeeling, their spiritless heart
They are shameless and callous an expressionless fart
Actually, in human unconcerned and aloof
And all of these victims are permanent proof

Cecil lured out of the park late at night
With an odious trick how could that be right
Its displeasing to witness such human deceit
What was truly grotesque from the so called elite
And Jericho feels that, he knows that, he cares
The hideousness of it of course he shares
Cecil was his friend, his buddy his mate
One of the family someone too rate

Jericho’s fearful thats why he goes
Back to the place where somehow he knows
Cecil was last, and he cries his low cry
You bet he has many tears in his eye
As for the hunters lost in their own vibe
Runaway flinchers the faint hearted tribe
Their over confidence and inconsideration
Shock every sentient soul in this nation

We should lament for the souls that are lost
Whether they are Lions or Beagles we have tossed
Into a facility to torture and kill
Rabbits for their fur all the blood that we spill
Leather from the cows for our shoes and our coats
By purchasing this pain the agony floats
Into other emotions and into the night
You kill one animal and another will cry
Will miss them they are sentient don’t ask me why
Animal earthlings are our mentors a thought
We Should be learning not calling them sport
Not ingesting their flesh with the corporate sauce
Nor going to their home and exerting brute force

Lets all cry with Jericho lets share his pain
And put an end to the violent insane
The hunters who happen, women now too
Enjoy the baseness and severity through
Where is their valour where is their care
Where is their nurturing
They are not aware
Their passionless bodies and their loveless way
So unlike their victims who they expect to pay
