The ocean a few yards away
Imagine that, can we,
Actually imagine that to be
Close to the sea
Our home is just a leap of faith
And we are in this pool
This concrete and tiled monstrosity
Where human trolls now drool
Over their crushed ice drinks
And watch our sorrows grow
They believe they are sentient
But of course most of us know
The humans have their money
Sheets of paper that they use
To control one another
And actually abuse
All of us, us wild souls
We are pickled in chlorine
Fed on buckets of rotten fish
For me its all obscene
That humans pay to come here
Pay these bandits who
Trick us and then capture us
And make us swim with you
Will you help us just get back
We need our families, we
Need our parents we need our friends
Its where we have to be
Rubbing against humans
Oily smelly souls
Its truthfully unhealthy
Its not one of life’s goals
And hearing the great ocean
So very close to here
Is the height of absurdity
Its dreary and unclear
Why we are made to do this
When lethargy prevails
To us you seem unfeeling
Completely off the rails
There is so much discomfort
To endure this feels so bad
Its anguish from the moment we wake up
Its really sad
The hopelessness of living
In a tiny little pool
With the ocean just a leap away
And The burden of it all
Is killing us, our spirits
Lowering by the day
Its inert and just a waste of time
How can this be the way
For dolphins to be living
Its a death sentence where we
Go down hill now every day
Into adversity
Feeling so downtrodden
Uncared for left to feel
Unloved and forgotten
And how can that appeal
The despondency of so many
Is apparently overlooked
We just have to put up with this
It seems that we are cooked
Its dark and its forbidding
We are driven to despair
And its so banal and dreary
And so bloody unfair
Some of you are protesting
Like Jool’s and others who
Realise our predicament
And want to help us through
This dark patch in our existence
Get us back in the sea
Lift us from the ugliness
Back to where we ought to be
The ocean gives us everything
For there our eyes can see
Despite your filthy dumping
Its there that we feel free
Its our world its dramatic
Its where we know the ropes
And with your help and more of you
On twitter we have hopes
That we can one day get back
To the world under the sea
To marvel at its wonder
And our integrity
For us its where our life is
Our world beneath the sea
For us its inspiration
And where we need to be
So help us try your very best
We so appreciate
The efforts of protestors
Who care about the fate
Of all of us. Thank you
