The dying dolphin’s glimpse of the world

Taiji has such foreboding
A dark shadow that does fall
Across the cove
Out to the sea
The drama of it all
A dolphin once was caught
It’s throat slashed open
As it died
It recounted its exclusion
From the other side
The outrage of this action
The injury the shame
The wickedness the cruel abuse
The hearts of man inflame

The damnable destructive
Deliberate design
What is the ultimatum
It’s own death on the line
The choking and the suffering
Why was it happening now
The vicious and the harmful
Deliberate and how

Ones eyes of course still open
Still able to see
The ocean and the notion
That soon it cannot be
Alive to what is happening
As death approaches fast
How evil are the fisherman
The die is clearly cast
There is no guilt to speak of
One has to feel the need
To try to understand the Japanese
Why they succeed
In slaughtering us terribly
Not considering our true power
Slitting our throats, the agony
The fatality of now

Taiji has such foreboding
So small and yet so sick
In pursuit of financial gain
They never miss one trick
Cutting unto ribbons
Destruction of each pod
Leaving nothing now to chance
And using the rod
To thrust into our spinal cord
To bleed out in such pain
To bash a cork into the wound
And so create more strain
I am but one sad. Dolphin
And soon I will be gone
Nobody really cares a lot
Once the sun had shone
Down through azure waters
A enlivened us for sure
But now we are defeated
Now we are no more
