Circus Primates

What is circus really

and how can primates be

expected to do tricks for people

who pay to come and see

of course these are wild animals

who live in forests, they

cooped up in some wagon

chained up all the day

how can that be sensible

how can that be fair

how can that be anything but cruel

how can we share

that kind of life with wild souls

just to make some dough

force them to be our slaves

and fill them full of woe#

deprive them of their natural ways

deprive them of their food

beat them when they cannot do it

its altogether crude

circus is a concentration camp

that charges for

us to show our torture to the public

who ignore

the pain and all the suffering

they are ignorant they don’t care

most a pissed up to the eyebrows

knowing nothing about fair

these circuses are run by people

pressured to try and make

a living out of all of this

and so they are forced to break

the spirit of these animals

beat them every day

torture them and make their lives

hell we make them pay

a high price for their capture

we are so inhumane

we ourselves are the low life

for causing so much pain

carted about from one place to another

its not right

chained up in some dirty wagon

every single night

no fresh water no fresh fruit

no care no love at all

just sworn at and beaten

its the vilest life

to be at the beck and call

of trainers and of pikeys

they want to make a show

and you are the butt of all of it

and know one seems to know

circus is an anathema

its passed its sell by date

people are not interested

its a dying trait

its dirty cramped and horrible

living on the street

out of  grubby wagons

it really does unseat

even the hardiest circus folk

through all weather they are

living out of musty tents

which tragically do scar

even human beings so what of  primates they

are totally lost and broken

and beside themselves all day

a whip to make them ride a bike

walk on stilts its wrong

they were not created to be like this

they just do not belong

in wagon camps and sinfulness

they, all should be free

made to stop this evil

and live in a sanctuary
