Subterfuge at the highest level

To be ignorant one has to trust the arrogant
And this is a combination that can’t be
There is too much at stake
There isn’t give and take
And this is what we see with history

The young the sick the disenfranchised
People
The coloured souls prisoners and those
Soldiers and the wounded all are vulnerable
And if quietly trusting
The risk grows

This goes back a while
Back to the forties
The Manhattan Project
And the need to know
What happens if plutonium
Is ingested
Could animals be used
And could they show

The right results
The tests were unaccountable
Many Beagles died but no one knew
What would happen if it happened to humans
Someone thus agreed to turn that screw
To test these radionuclides on the people
Hush it up and let few people see
Inject the plutonium into them but not tell them
And watch what happened that was in fact the key

And so this toxic terror was injected
And people died and others frantically
Took on tremendous tumours they ‘d heard
All the rumours some suspected
But could never see

The doctors didn’t know
Nor did the family
The patient took the can
And paid the price
Many had so many complications
And died their death which truly wasn’t nice

Subterfuge and a government in tune with it
Doctors and the educated souls
They were inhumane to all their charges
How sad and cruel they were
With their controls
In effect of course signing death warrants
Many many before their due time
Many died in agony and feeling very sick
And other once they laid down couldn’t climb

Back out of their beds for being fearful
They suffered all the vagaries of man
And it was being carried out in orphanages
Dispensing radiation was the plan
Disabled children and pregnant women got a dose
It was going to kill them that’s for sure
How professional doctors can create this
Bloody evil
And smile in fact and then walk out the door

They then dispersed the dust out of the vehicles
They turned it on the unsuspecting who
Might have just been coming back from school that day
And got a dose and all without a clue
They would probably just feel a bit poorly
And put it down to stress and let it fly
Take the tablets that of course were offered
And some lay down and truthfully just die

Those that died and many did prematurely
Were exhumed from their graves
And checked out to see
Where the plutonium had ended up in their bodies
And had their organs dealt effectively
Some were paid off others told to button it
Guinea pigs reluctantly they had become
They were treating people just like numbers
No wonder some rebelled however numb
And who knows what then happened to the experiment
Eileen Welsome discovered it and she
Researching medical records and charting radiation
It was all in dusty files no one could see

Imagine it was somebody you cared about
Selected for this experiment or you
Perhaps someone you loved and cherished avidly
What the hell would you be expected to do
They killed them with their radio active nonsense
Gave them cancers made them take the wrap
Damaged them and subjected them to agony
Science in a nutshell sold its crap

Many died excruciating periods
Some lost all their children what a way
To come into existence and be treated
As if you were an experiment each day
Those victims would be sickly and infirm
Some already suffering from cancers
Or wounded and battle scarred and so long term
Didn’t have a really long term future
So they were selected to be killed
But no one said a dickey bird to anyone
Authorising their blood to be spilled

It happened as an accident in a laboratory
When plutonium was spilled and they wanted to know
What the long term affects were of a mishap
And thousands died in agony to show
Whoever so called medicine was culpable
The government were riddled with pure scum
It mattered not that they were educated
Their acts of evil left so many numb

Still to this day these experiments are abhorrent
A revulsion that ones government could do
Such an act of loathing it really is obnoxious
Had you been around it could have been you
Repellent and so nauseous one wonders
Whether they are doing this now still
And long after we’re dead and gone
Someone finds they were
Your right to life never ever will

Be fulfilled your gone and lost forever
Nobody hears your sad lament again
I can’t bring myself to realise this antipathy
It brings tears to me eyes
For I feel their pain

A government of stooges
And corporate creeps who made
Decisions about life itself
Stole the lives of many
Those as our memories fade
In the minds of many
Karma strikes a chord
Hopefully the universe
Will give them their reward

The women who found the
Research notes
Got a Pulitzer Prize
She took it on herself to write
What was before her eyes
Her heartfelt love was evident
Her courage clearly too
Her commitment and her stamina
Might have just saved you

The right results
