The sky reflected the sullenness
that all of us felt today
this was the day the Japanese
were preparing to display
their vile techniques for torture
and capture dolphins who
would end up torn to pieces
for that’s what, the fishermen do
pod loads of sweet innocents
frightened out of their mind
herded into small corrals
hoping they might find
an albino or some pretty ones
for aqua parks who pay
the rest chopped up like carrion
when the vultures fly away
all the gang were on the scene
faces we all knew
the chanting was incessant
its what we have to do
silence isn’t golden
outside an embassy
you need them to be wary
of the noise
to let them see
the warriors are unhappy
they hate the killings and
Taiji is the infamous place
where murders are now planned
thousands are killed each season
intelligent innocent souls
lost in bubbles of trouble
all losing their controls
vociferous voices rose and fell
over the London streets
“shame shame shame on Japan!
all with lots of beats
resentment it was growing
as the boats set out to find
pods of darling dolphins
they wanted to break their mind
at times the noise was deafening
on other times we sang
recited bits of poetry
and some drama
it just rang
skywards sideways all ways
it must have made them feel
nauseous at the very least
for our passion it was real
we all took it in turns to
raise the anti
lead the chanters help them to maintain
momentum in the chanting stakes
it rolls along
like baking cakes
and everyone helped
so nothing went wrong
we share the love of dolphins
its our passion
the nation as a whole
provides a key
they save so many wayward people
lost in ocean drama’s
to murder them in cold blood
frantically
goes against the grain
its all but proper
slaughtering the innocent parties
says
there no excuse for animals abuse
not ever
and once they are dead and dying
then no prayers
will ever change the scenario
for certain
and so we battle on us band of souls
the vendetta against the fishermen
is full of animosity
bitterness and rancour
and control
Robert led the charge as did some others
the fog horns took the ears out if you were near
a lot of aching joints
and yes our ear drums
and possibly a hundred humps of fear
there is no doubt anyone in a earshot of us
now has heard of Taiji it rang out
the name it conquered double decker buses
and hefty lorries and without a doubt
we managed to engage the police and security
and keep the whole thing
light hearted and true
yes we had a go at the terrible torture
but kept the spirit high
in fact all through
drama showed its head
and pangs of pathos
reflecting on those dolphins in Taiji
probably being led ashore and butchered
and all of us aware of our despondency
hanging in the air above the building
noticeable and hurting actually
if we could all be there
to voice our protests
be there now in person to exclaim
the murder for financial gain is a sickness
not ever to be forgiven
its all the same
with cries and shouts and tempers
clearly rising
the rigmarole the noise was rising too
disgruntlement and tension
it was out there its was evident
sincerity from us all
was felt all through
the boats may have put out today
all hoping the pods
would be there and their flashing souls
broken by the time
the murmurings did climb
to really address what would only be fit for trolls
we still kept up the salvos
of resistance
the dolphins out in Taiji
must have heard
the cacophony
it rose unto the heavens
and somewhere someone
hung on every word
too many names to mention
but they all were there
demeanour’s thoroughly satiated too
everyone was tired after this debacle
I sat down really I felt that I had to
lots of photographs were being taken
lets hope they are recorded for all time
and sent away to foreign parts
to influence we hope
and likewise what I am writing
in this rhyme
lots of hooting drivers
give us fuel to carry on
unlike the police on double time
we are there upon
the streets
for peaceful protest
or noisy protest
we
prefer to say
Taiji
it will go on for certain
but we showed the world
that we
are here to stay
we showed the world
that we will not stop fighting
we showed the world
our spirits are in tact
we showed the world
that this is what the warriors
do
congregate
and prove we can react
Your poem is great you speak the truth even though the truth is horrendous.
Thanks Yvonne for adding a comment to my blog and seeing that I do always write the truth though sometimes its hard and seriously upsetting
its nice though when people write in and leave positive comments
thanks again
