Anipals( they are everywhere quietly and noisily doing their thing) dedicated to my friends and to Sharon who gave me the idea

Anipals use courage

and a lot of hope

they try hard to stay positive

despite each slippery slope

lots of expectation

and a deal of support

petitions signed and poems penned

and lots of lovely thought

auspicious in so many ways

but worried by the news

that comes through social media

and sometimes can defuse

the fire within our spirit

that keeps us feeling well

despite some dreadful stories

and the animals in Hell

defeated by the corporate

who now increase their share

whether it be the forest

the orangutans aware

the dolphins in the ocean

the Orca at seaworld

the monkeys still in Air France holds

the kangaroo’s heing hurled

every blooming which way

the Elephants in zoo’s

Arturo in Mendoza

with his share of the blues

the bulls those proud young stalwarts

who seemingly confirm

to take on countless matadors

and have done this long term

the rodeo those cute young souls

broken roped and torn

the cruelty in CAFO’s

where the strongest do get worn

down by all the torture

all the uncaring all the strain

the calves then stolen from their mums

again and again and again

the piglets and their testicles

snipped off with the pliars

the dairy quietly doing it

what a bunch of liars

so many horror stories

our psyche does include

but anipals are out there

promising the brood

a vision and a future

and more love and care,  we do

we have to remain gentle

we have to bring them through

this terror they are feeling

the live exports everywhere

the slaughterhouses

the veal crates

the gestation crates,  despair

angora and the rabbits

museling and the sheep

the little chicks a riding

on the conveyor

hear them cheep

they are just so joyful

going to their death

rendered into feathery gloop

suddenly without breath

anipals are everywhere

rescuing away

cleaning up the blood and guts

and helping others pay

the vet bills and the food bills

and the stuff we have to do

and getting on the front line

which is important too

the megaphones reverberate

and instill in those who

sleep walk into buying fur

or supporting shops who do

anipals are everywhere

we work now tirelessly

join the anipal army

they need you earnestly

think foie gras

in the mainstream

Fortnums selling loads

its also on the internet

we are making in roads

eating houses tell us

they will not serve it they

realize the terror

which will not go away

until we stop the carnage

until we educate

those restauranteurs

who feel the need

to serve it on  their plate

the pilot whales in the Fareoes

the Dolphins in Taiji

everywhere there’s terror

its out there believe me
