Surabaya Zoo Indonesia

When anyone takes any soul from its habitat

and decides

to place it in another place a Zoo

and then just hides

what in fact its doing behind a cloak of dirt

of squalor and of suffering

of painfulness and hurt

its then the worldwide agencies

must come into play

when animals are dying

in horror everyday

when litter filth and remnants

of visitors lunches are

left inside enclosures

to damage and to scar

plastic bags inside of animals

do create such sin

formaldehyde contaminants

in tigers guts  so thin

so vile so so tormented and no one

cared at all

that poor soul died a million deaths

and no one heard it call

Elephants stand shackled

their legs torn by the steel

bands tight around them

no one hears them squeal

they cry out they are suffering

but few will stop and care

they would rather run their retail shops

and leave them with despair

unhealthiness is obvious

in cramped conditions where

animals get no respite

from the horror that is there

unsanitary morbidity

malady its there

contagion and miasma

all of them there, share

the bitterness of rejection

of uncaring it does scare

this is not a place of care

but a  death camp

and no one’s  aware

so many of  the worlds press

stories everywhere

but still the Zoo is taking animals

clearly they don’t care

a giraffe died 20 kilos of plastic bags

she’d ate

can you imagine all that pain

and that poor soul was let

and able to consume this crap

blown into her cage

nobody to clean the place

no food for an age

the frustration of the innocent

who know not what they should

and neglect on such an awesome scale

that an animal just stood

 eating waste rather than food

thats whats happened here

Surabaya Zoo must now be closed

this camp of fear

of doom its bloody terrible

than any zoo would dare

to carry on taking visitors

when its occupants despair

infection it is everywhere

injuries as well

a complete lack of any hygiene

morbific it is Hell

on earth, for all its charges

which ever, all seem sad

all being neglected

and some just going mad

and the deterioration continues

the impoverishment is high

corruption depravation

trauma  and souls they die

50 or so every 3 months

what a record there

these are sentient beings

ravaged and aware

subject to such evils

man unkind displays

the zoo is not fit for purpose

and the questions it does raise

Zoo’s are really no place

for animals at all

corporates have no idea really

and there is a wall

of resentment in the business model

shareholders appear

to wants to take their dividends

despite the walls of fear

zoo’s are no place for sentients

where  keepers are underpaid

untrained and so uncaring

the occupants they fade

starve go mad get injured

the imposition here

is why do we take them out of their habitat

to me its clear

the human is an animal a vile and ugly beast

who hasn’t got a bloody clue

and seems to care now least

than any wilder creature who understands their role

understands their commitment

because they still have soul

they do not deal in profit

in banks and debts all they

know about is Nature and love and care

each day

they might be fierce and dangerous

but have more sweet affection

even the most powerful

suffer from rejection

clearly they are vulnerable to the neglect

of man

susceptible to the ravages

when people fail to plan

expugnable and suffering

the vagaries we see

Surabaya must be closed

down immediately

we cannot hear excuses

they are no use at all

these animals there are suffering

we have to make a rule

their tears they are heart wrenching

their souls are bitter for

their habitat their memories

were without the blood and gore

freedom they had freedom

their Mother was on hand

Nature took her babies

and helped them understand

but here in man made concrete cells

no sanctum was around

just a fucking prison

and the coldness from the ground

and all the contamination

the baseness of the place

wallowing in filthiness

and dying at a pace

unpurified and festering

malodorous intent

flyblown maggoty evil

and many lie there spent

waiting for their deaths to come

hoping its today

manunkind just remains blind

to the price they have to pay
