Rhino Horn and the yet to be born

Morality is lost where money is to be

made or so they tell themselves

no liability

dutifulness its not something

we care about they say

we only buy the Rhino Horn

excuses every day

what is Rhino Horn

i hear you ask

its like our nails

keratin and calcium

on potency it fails

the chinese market

grabs at it

purporting it to be

some miracle

and terror strikes

the Rhino’s instantly

we have an obligation

to realize that we

can save endangered species

by acting honestly

not creating markets

not taking that stance

not lying about medicines

where there is no chance

so many mother Rhino’s

are slaughtered in the field

their horns hacked off

by poachers

whose bank balance they build

they are the vilest low life

for what they do we see

is slaughter iconic wild life

and lie of its efficacy

in Viet Nam some business men

deal

thats what they do

they deal in horns a plenty

unrepentant that they screw

everyone around them

for there is no truth that horn

cures anything its superstition

and really the new dawn

is evidence of all of this

and people must believe

that rotten apple in a barrel

what it can achieve

it can break into the others

and all then rotten be

so much evil in this world

which some just fail to see

take this little Rhino

unborn but full of life

its mother had her horn sawn off

she suffered so much strife

the poachers tore her open

her baby was inside

waiting for his time to live

but sadly now he’s died

the irreverence of business

of the dealers in the dark

their dirty desecration

is where they leave their mark

insolent and aweless

devious and  crude

erring on the sinful

a thoroughly nasty brood

scornful of their position

but they should be in shame

they are guilty along with everyone

who joins the game

of course they underestimate

their position in the deal

they kind of become outraged

when someone says to feel

unscrupulousness is everywhere

racketeering too

men of honour where are they

in essence what they do

is fight this mean corruption

unbribable they be

they just want no part of this
