the people

he represents the Sealers

and their trade

he speaks of Science

as if they were a god force

at an ecological source

he says its laid

confirming what some of us know

of abattoirs

of how they kill

and the agony that’s there

of fish stocks

and the need to slaughter

predators

non indigenous seals

which no one is aware

the small number they

take out

doesn’t harm them

the population grows

there anyway

science says the ways the Sealers

do it

is humane

so humane  it is for now on any day

anywhere in abattoirs around the world

animals are really being killed

so much blood is flowing

in those gutters

so much blood the like

of which is spilled

in Britain and America

and everywhere

so what they do to Seals here

is nothing short

of humane killing

of a tiny number

the fashion industry

is in his thought

so this is Canada

and Stephen Harper

he vigorously defends

the Sealers rights

people who object to

what they are doing

really have to re align their sights

Canada and the people

there are accepting

that seal life have to be cut down to size

and abusing them with cudgels

is really the most humane

and no one else can therefore

realize

any other motive for so doing

there’s money to be made

and baby seals

are lucrative within the fashion market

wanting at the seams

this he calls good husbandry

and I can cite the reams

of poems just from my pen

but from many sources too

who know that how this hunt is done

is satanic in our view

its evil and its cruel and nasty

and citing other egregious acts

doesn’t give them credence whatsoever

for the facts

are clear

what they are doing is evil to be sure

Canada is mistaken

and a lot of us are sure

for babies rights throughout

the world

this cannot be allowed

to continue

it is wrong on all counts

where these souls are hurled

this year 400,000 are going to meet

their maker

whilst Canada exploits them

with their skin sales

a muckraker

those of you who source or wear

clothes made, from chopped up seals

must think again and again again

and imagine how that feels

50 or 60 babies chopped  up for one coat

the squeals of utter agony

squeezed out of, each throat

the mothers too beside themselves

to see their dear offspring

torn to shreds beside them

how can that ever bring

a mother from her senses

imagine it please try

these souls have feelings

more so than you

when their babies die

and come out on 13th June to the

Canadian High Commision  and tell

Stephen Harper and his Scientific chums

that we in Britain can’t abide his miserable

philosophy towards wild life

and will fight it every step of the way
