A victim speaks

Imagine what its like

to be a victim

you haven’t been born

all that long

but you know

they came along with their sticks

to violate you

all of them were big

and mighty strong

we are babies

we are still so fragile

nursing pups

a great mass of us here

they beat us to a pulp

with utter viciousness

and I am the one you see

though its not clear

how long I can sit up

and be counted

they rained those sticks

down on us and we knew

our blood is

freely spilling

and if god is willing

some of us will be taken

hostage too

they want our skin

we want it but they have

the upper hand

they sell it all to a turkish guy

and with his motley band

he turns it into gold dust

flogging it around

they say he lives in Sydney

thats where he goes to ground

clearly its a tragedy

to murder us in this way

but then it has been going on

3 decades and we pay

a high price for our lives in fact

and some of us must be

sacrificial incarnations

and sadly that is me

the ice floe

is remarkable

its shifting all the time

its icy such a panorama

for  us all to climb

but it will never happen

not for me alas

or all of the other chums

their wishes he does dash

seal coats seat hats

seal gloves

thats what people wear

they cannot see a baby

who was forced to share

all its skin imagine that

the torment and the woe

of losing all your natural skin

up and down below

the snow and ice is bloodied

I dont know what to do

scrambling over bodies

I do not have a clue

I think I am resigned now

to a battering to come

for there appears just no escape

and I now can hear the hum

of the trailer and the motor

they are coming for us , they

will pick us up skin us on the spot

and throw away

whats left off us

the sea birds get to

have their big high tea

Canada I hate the snow I walk on

and I see

you actually orchestrate it all

such laggards you’ve become

sacrificing feral infants

so you all earn some

dollars for your coffers

well Harper you can go

to hell as far as we are concerned

none of us want to know

whether you ever reach that place

but karma has a way

of suddenly jumping out on you

good luck mate as I say

I think you will fracking need it

for the bitterness around here

the agony aforethought

the tremendous auric fear

that tripled our emotions

we heard each victim cry

and smelled those sweaty

ugly brutes

who rained down their sticks

from high
