Orca’s in the wild

the black and white

patterning

gives you the low down

on what is below you

and why it is there

in a rich soup of plankton

it cuts through the water

surfacing calmly

its blow hole

will share

a great plume of  air

mixed with water and rainbows

the sun ‘s prism painting

this picture for all

to see

as their bodies come up through the

surface

the Orca’s

their pod

just answer the call

below those great belts

of seed weed adoringly

dance to the ballet

that plays in the ear

olive and gold strands

waving so gently

a maiden perhaps

seems to appear

Johnson Straits

close to Vancouver Island

a great sheet of mirror

reflecting the sky

and down in the water

an octopus slithers

writhing its tentacles

its seems to fly

over rocks through

the kelp that hangs

in the current

various fishes

great gaping eyes

all sorts of colours

burst with the sunlight

the orca’s some of them

a very great size

they push through the water

a knife of a fin

just like ballet dancers

onto a spin

so gentle so beautiful

this place is there’s

wild and creative

who wins s who dares
