Canned and Trophy Hunters Marches

Getting our message across to people

under a blue sky

Trafalgar Square played host to us

and you may ask us why

so many hearts and minds

descended on this iconic square

to demonstrate our love for Lions

and to all the people there

to create in them a spirit

an interest that we all

can stand together and beat this

we can answer the call

extinction is forever

a factor we must see

A dodo was created once

but ran out of sympathy

The Lions are very special

the kings of jungles, they

are dying in their thousands

its a task of some dismay

this canned and trophy hunting scene

and the  business its become

it is really dancing sordidly

to a rather unctuous drum

which is hurting all those wild souls

its an unsustainable trait

which must be reversed

and quickly

for we realize the fate

of Lions and other animals

now forced, to endure

such agony personified

when we know there is a cure

and thus we all got to it

stood up for them and they

must get support from everyone

all along the way

indeed it was the purpose

to bring together those

who know the evil goings on

and know what that does pose

to everyone around the world

this hunting that we see

has become as lucrative

as it could ever be

its drawing in the corruption

the greed all of it there

and leading to a watershed

which creates its own despair

animals are being killed

just commodities to some

sold on brochures to be killed

a factor that does numb

the caring thoughtful people

that arrogance, we see

has brought together hearts and minds

yes like little me

Wild animals forever

not chattels to be sold

cut down in cold blood

upon the whim of someone

hold

that thought

imagine how we might sink

into the abyss, if we

allow such evil goings on

it just must never be

whatever we are doing

whatever is our thing

to understand whats happening

really has to bring

the best out of us, for together

we can make a stand

we can change this horror

right across the land

The king of beasts

that flowing mane

the pride a family scene

who are we to then decide

that whatever,  has been

it now is fit for purpose

as a target for those who

have lots of “ugly” money

to just do what they do

 it is, now so objectionable

how trophy hunting seems

canned hunts are an anomaly

as now so many teams

of operatives are ready

to grasp the metal and

run with it

to bite that bit

and see it all as grand

a way of clawing back the losses

that some farmers made

this their new horizon

they have really weighed

feeling purposeful and successful

its a spirit they employ

they have lost the powers of judgement

and the ethic of true joy

But then we are the people

we love  all earthlings so

we would walk to the end of any earth

really to show

those deviants that we believe

each now has a place

look after, love and care for

for we are the humane race

we are not a bunch of assassins

out for each others blood

we care, we really care a lot

we share the precious mud

we all walk on together

that is what we do
