A Trappers Epiphany

The iranians are coming to their senses

in Kurdistan  the folly of their ways

they realize that killing was so final

a selfish sense of self interest

to be with them all their days

to haunt their every thought

as feral habitats

are torn away

and victims suffer so

and all because some hunter

wants to have his fling

the guilt begins to fester

and to grow

everyone is responsible

for someone

its unforgivable to then destroy

a living breathing thinking

individual

who has its share of beauty

and of joy

unpardonable behaviour

is inexcusable

its when you are on your own

perhaps in bed

then its spirits come along

to haunt you

to  torment your soul

and climb into your head

taunt you

and create in you

a jungle

of cells and spasms

drive you till you scream

those moments of

indiscretion

reprehensible

a reprobate

who never will redeem

himself and so they have to

break the habit

the web that binds their

hearts and minds

they free

more moral strength

is needed

a more principled approach

bordering on the righteous

dutifully

they took their traps

their contraptions

and their rifles

to a mountain top

and a glorious fire was had

they warmed themselves on the spoils

of each encounter

the crackle and the spitting

of the cad

leapt into the night sky

all those spirits

all those demons

no more would these 19 hunters

kill

trap

it had to end

and it ended with this fire

in the embers each

felt very very still

Iranians are clearly

very virtuous

they realize the cost

and feel that they

by their action

of destruction of these chattels

the animals will have a better say

Lets applaud them

shout it to the heavens

what they show

is resolute and strong

if they can do it

everyone can do it

everyone can admit

that they were wrong
