The King and Queen
of the jungles wild
and therein
we know lies every child
who fights for life
and for glory too
as the trophy hunter
rumbles through
in his 4by 4
with his rifle cocked
with his ammunition
and the soul he’s hocked
to the karma farmer,
who’ll check him in
set up the ambush
and commit the sin
and other sharp shooters
will be on each flank
who submerge humanity
dark and rank
who caressed the cubs
and who locked the gate
canned hunting
something to berate
its the vilest, nastiest
lure I know
to participate
proves just how low
life can become
in the hunters soul
when he pays the price
and loses control
an insensitive moment
as the guns are fired
and a brave soul dies
he is mystified
up till then humans
were his friends
but this is where the story ends
a trophy head
on a dusty wall
and another Lion
that had to fall
deprived of breath
and the suns hot glare
by cowards who
remain still unaware
