“Amber” one of those sad doggie stories

It was late, so very late

at nightand  a dog was on the street

shivering with frost that hovered all around its feet

crossing over the main road

ears pricked eyes a glow

a drunken driver hit him

and he wasn’t going slow

tossed our little friend up in the air

he came crashing down

lying in the middle

of the main road out of town

a man in tears who witnessed this

who felt for this poor hound

the driver of course he never stopped

and with no one else around

the man felt he must save the dog

and lifted him in his arms

with dogs at home already

succumbing to his charms

but being short of money

so another mouth to feed

but he took him home and loved him

i his best chance to succeed

though tired and short of finances

we looked after this poor lad

took him in and loved him

and though he was quite bad

he very soon receovered

with extra TLC

we now hope for a froever home

with a forever family
