Big Tears we share this morning
the sitar we can feel
the ropes are being cut away
the agony is real
the ignorance of man un kind
who exerts his rotten power
on an angel who happened to have 4 legs
who helped him every hour
of every day
the ropes cut through the muscle
and the skin
the tendons they were shattered
this man had let his sin
encompass all his longings
and engaged in torture he
had lost sight of the angel with 4 legs
and that was key
the donkey worked its butt off
the donkey shed its tears
every step it took
inside itself it hears
the blood that oozes
from its legs
the scampering maggots too
it hears them
and it feels them
knowing not what it can do
if it slows down it gets beaten
if it whinnies it is told
if it closes down
its kicked and kicked
its told it will be sold
so it works itself and tries to please
its master everyday
till all its legs
are infected
and its life is just dismay
Animal Aid
was notified
and sent its angels to
the place where working animals
are threatened
as they do
see the need for love and care
for cleansing and to be
allowed to rest
allowed to feel
peace from slavery
the story it brings tears
a flooding
each of us we know
that poor soul gave its all
to someone
and got blow after blow
its poor legs tied together
cutting through the skin
but still it kept on working
despite the awful din
despite the dirt and mayhem
despite the weight it held
despite the scampering maggots
until the pain just felled
its spirit and it could
not go
another inch, and so
it fell down on the roadside
and let its master know
still he bloody kicked and kicked
swore at him all day
but animal aid were on the case
and have taken him away
he will now not work
he will rest and be
sheltered from the adversity
but working animals everywhere
also share their own despair
