To all my friends worldwide

Maybe the day is miserable

maybe the sky is grey

but I woke up with happiness

and with thoughts of you today

I thought about all you have done

for me this passed long year

how you have helped to heal my soul

and banish so much fear

how you have shown me beauty

like I had never known

how you have helped me overcome

and so many seeds I have sown

how many poems I have written

a thousand possibly more

and learned a great deal more about you

so there was a reason for

it has  helped me to understand

the wisdom of your being

the caring of your heart

the loving of your countenance

and hopefully it will start

to recreate my being

to realise my worth

to  understand your feeling

and praise our mother Earth

and all the varied species

that live now side by side

to love them as I love you all

and now in you confide
