My big boy ,lives with us
in Gaddesden
its where
I roam the wild location
this cottage
we all share
its somewhere I can
come back to
for I am a feral cat
that means the wildness
haunts me
its exactly where I am at
with Claudia and Luca
and sometimes Rex comes by
he feeds us
and he’s fair to me
because Claudia knows that I
eat slowly
often coming back to finish
off my grub
but Bear given the chance
will scoff it all
yes thats the rub
really I gave birth to him
and he somehow forgets
then he’s a boy
my pride and joy
and its my heart
that lets
him do that
though I am hungry
but noticeably, I
see rex sits by and lets me finish
when he does that I just sigh
I’m lily bags the wildness I really do adore
sitting by the fireside
I am not entirely sure
being in the elements
alongside frogs and toads
alongside Moles the fox and rats
that’s what I love loads
thats my date with freedom
thats the way for me
I can climb up on the shed
or perch
high in a tree
listen to the bird song
observe the beetles who
take their place
to help me chase
what is infinity
I love my life in Gaddesden
Claudia for me
she loves us how she loves us
and its where I like to be
she laboriously de fleas us
that helps a wild soul, and
I love her very dearly
which I know she will understand
last night and every night
I have to venture
to the far
fields the yields
are favourable
I follow the great north star
the wind
the rain
the hail
the snow
the sunshine its for me
not toasting my tootsies by the fire
for a feral cat I be
thats not saying that I cannot
I like it on the stairs
I sit up there and contemplate
my future
our affairs
of life that really
is my guiding light
I love the cottage so
but I tuly have to get away
legs into gear most every day
which goes to show my boy
he’s a big lad
and he
eats too much, and tries then to tell me
he is healthy
he is, but he just denies me
sometimes seemingly
forgets I am his mother
and of course that I can see
I do need my freedom
how I have got to roam
to meet up with the wild folk
and tell them about my home
tell them about, Claudia
tell them how much I
love her,
need her
want her
and sometimes I like to lie
half asleep and think of her
how sometimes she yells
but sweetly I remember
that she
rings all my bells
I came to her with a busted paw
in pain
and in a state
she took me in
she loved me
and gave me a plate
of food ,her love was
bountiful
she’s always there for me
although I am a feral cat
as everyone can see
