A boy in Peru with a heart of gold

the shanty towns in Peru

are clearly where a lot of strays

wander around and suffer

in all sorts of ways

one such hound was

clearly, scalded seriously

and had a lot of mange

that must have hurt so terribly

a little deaf boy

“Darwin” clearly still aware

obviously very sensitive

to the pain  when hes aw him there

somewhere in the gutter

hopeful of some bread

wandering from here to there

where he could lay his head

the little boy looked after him

patted him and took

him to a man who helped a bit

so he could have a look

and only with sign language

managed then to go

to Vida Digne some helpers

who he had come to know

he did n’t have any money

just his heartfelt care

he gave he did not take at all

he was so aware

so giving and so thoughtful

that poor dog must have felt

fortunate that the boy was there

his heart it must have melt

sick and hurt and smelly

who would want to be

bothered only Darwin

who helped him avidly

this is a lovely story

and it further shows the way

sometimes good things gell

when others hear and also say

they would like to help the boy

whose hearing possibly

might be improved

its likely

so actually we see

the angels come together

each helps each to be

one helps the hound

and another helps the boy

and so we see

and lovely caring story

in amongst the woeful one’s
