it makes no fracking sense

The environmental agency rejected
Cuadrilla’s request to use stuff at the site
Antimony Trioxide they put forward
a nasty chemical that wasn’t right
instead permission was allowed
for something else
Oxirane or ethylene oxide
as it is known
a cyclic ether that is a carcinogen
Balcombe had protested but was shown

the door they had to so accept this
stuff to be
added to the water in the frack
who the hell works at this bloody agency
why should local people face this flack

for this is truthfully a hazardous substance
a highly flammable gas and toxic too
used in bloody thermobaric weaponry
Cuadrilla what the hell do they want to do

we are local communities protecting
our environments our water the supply
our children and their children
our precious sewerage systems
the air we breathe and I just
wonder why

The Environmental Agency say yes to this
Cameron can back this industry
put the the muck they use in Cameron’s garden
and see how much he likes that actually

they have found oil, in Balcombe from the shale
we hear
and now are testing it to see if they
can make a killing out of spoiling more
green precious land
fracking is a dirty filthy system
and we pay

which the politicians do not understand
we have to stand against them
where ever they now go
for they will destroy our country
When the shit does start to flow

you have to wake up now and see the
writing on the wall
its now in big enough letters
and its message does appal

Don’t listen to their bleatings
their propaganda stinks
they are lining several pockets
but locally me thinks

everything will suffer
a mushroom cloud of ill
a bit of extra cash maybe
but the negatives soon will

bury any positives
as everything goes wrong
Biogas would be better
fracking doesn’t belong

in England and the fracking water
where will it all go
dumped where no one’s looking
and no one, will want to know

it seems only the people
can stop this march of fear
can stop this filthy energy
from what is good around here
