There was a time
a while ago
when everybody cared
when animals
were respected
and their sweet lives we shared
then came the revolution
the factory farm brigade
behold the corporate monsters
the vile disparate Trade
mass production followed
morons soon replaced
the happy smiling farmers
and the whole world
was disgraced
behind closed doors
in great vile sheds
the CAFO’s got to grow
mini fukashima’s
but very few did know
pollution on a scale
that fills the nightmares
of a few
health issues on a awful scale
and its all around us too
lakes of waste material
now rotting in the sun
the prophets there are none around
when profit is such fun
our environments are degraded
pristine rivers become vile
algae blooms spread every which way
can we reconcile
ourselves to realise that we
allowed this shit to come
we allowed these monsters
to take away
what Nature had for some
years given so freely
a pristine wilderness
packed with every conceivable good
perfection let me stress
everything in balance
this is what we had
and then the corporates
muscled in and of course they were quite mad
and what was purely natural
it was replaced by those
concentration camps of filth
and, of course they rose
quietly in the backwoods
great sheds containing souls
hundreds of thousands of chickens
supervised by trolls
who had no idea about hygiene
no idea or sense
they were heartless individuals
everywhere was tense
pollution in the blood of those
who managed these sheds saw
an explosion of the filth and shit
and blood and snot and gore
lakes of it then ran into the pristine
rivers where
fish and beautiful natural fauna
felt the mass despair
algae blooms went everywhere
fish died straight a way
a sickness spread across the place
and brought awful decay
We had nature on our doorstep
in our cities racked with smoke
with industrial pollution rising
yes a joke
and now the countryside the lakes
the rivers once pristine
were even worse the natural world
was now so far from green
the first people saw the outcome
the heavens saw it too
but the politicians got their
money and allowed the sods to screw
more and more out of us all
to so pollute the land
anyone with any sense
tried to make them understand
but we are called the terrorists
the activists those who
tell the king he has nothing on
the storybooks could woo
many a soul to activism
but once again we saw
the politicians the kick back kings
infiltrate the law
so the soothsayers were bludgeoned
and the pollution it got worse
nobody was listening it was just a curse
people ate their vast amounts of flesh
and many died
cancer became an epidemic
and then medicine lied
chemotherapy flourished
more poison for the soul
vaccinations surfaced more poison
and the role
of what we had and what we have
carried on at speed
and many a soul has laid their head
and just begun to bleed
the world is now at the crossroads
I don’t know if we ever can
get back what we all had
we need a world wide ban
on corporate activity
on the new world order tribe
we need now a profusion
of love and care its tried
and tested, it could happen
if we, all pulled as one
if we put love in front of hate
like some of us have done
but it now has to encompass
every thinking soul
everyone on this great planet
to take back some control
