50 million girls

I can’t begin to realise
the problem that does exist
where 50 million girls are
apparently lost in some mist
some vile dark apparition
what cause could this now be
the figure is horrendous
just the pain and agony
of the families now involved
just what has happened to them all
women are the future
India does appal
me in that these figures
are so extraordinary
that the nation should be mourning
its loss it seems to me

but is it what is happening
today is girls day, they
are an asset thats so valuable
to the planet let me say
without them here to brighten
to be the guiding force
this world would not be possible
it would never be on course
we have to get to grips with this
phenomena
find out for certain where these
sweet souls be
India depends on all its women
the world does women really are the key
component in a world of love and sharing
in a world where fairness is of paramount
importance in all dealings
heightening our feelings
on them I do believe we have to count

50 million I can’t get my head around this
how can 50 million souls be gone
and why would a country ever let this happen
is it genocide now here upon
its frightening for me to even write about
I can’t believe its happening today
women are the future of this planet
women are its saviours so to say
