Murdering scum

Creation saw a place
for every creature
upon a planet
built around the need
to share
to be aware
of every species
all was given attributes
all were asked to care

what we see with Rhino’s
is a manifestation of evil
the human earthling
justifies his actions
to himself
he mutilates the iconic one’s
hacks away their face
steals their horn
for a little corn
one of the human race

he steps up and admits it
a contagion that is he
he will kill in cold blood anything
for some of that money
he doesn’t see the wrong he does
or that he is made to be
a puppet for the gangsters
who themselves can’t see
anything but money
corruption and the rest
creation
machination
I promise I don’t jest

these people often locals
will be lured into the pool
on a promise of big wages
and on that yes they drool
this Rhino was a gallant soul
who faced the wrath of man
intoxicated by a little wealth
who became a fan
not of the iconic Rhino
but the money grabbing hordes
who sell their souls for a few bucks
and perish on their swords

The Rhino had to be put down
can we imagine why
the pain of having one’s face hacked off
by a mercenary, the lie
that he was told about what he
was doing
held no sway
that Rhino had to suffer
mutilation and to pay

the price for human ignorance
selfishness and greed
so much like a prehistoric soul
but like us it does bleed
regression of a species
we see before our eyes
corruption and perversion
and a loss of the true wise

a wickedness apparent
a deliverance of sorts
can we extricate ourselves now
from the lowering of thoughts
for the subterfuge and inarticulate
way the sick perform
that sad beleaguered
Rhino who faced the mounting storm

despite the opposition
money of course talks
too many are prepared
to look the other way
who walks
this way or that way
no one knows
they have eyes
but fail to see
they have ears
but fail to use them
they commit pure infamy

the flesh is weak
corruption impresses some
and they
fall victim to the
green notes
that heighten their decay
the challenge to confront
a beast and startle it and be
able to overpower it
with such severity
