Air India a USP for you

When travelling Air India
spare a big thought for
the beagles and the other dogs
in the holds below
for sure
in tiny little cages
consigned to laboratories
for experimentation
you just must not ignore

taken out of freedom
these loyal and friendly souls
as sentient as you or I
subjected to controls
that cut them up
that pierce their skulls
its frightening its sick
Air India should contemplate
just a bit of arithmetic

all kind of tick the boxes
for experimentation does
nothing for your image
it gives no one a buzz
in fact its very negative
and very very cruel
and anybody travelling
Air India is no fool

they are convinced
they are concerned
Air India really now has
spurned
Peta and those souls who care
has reneged on them
up in the air

taking money from those who feel
its right to torture
its such an ordeal
and should take its place
in the boardrooms today
being kind to the animal earthlings
is a way

we all now should see
and end to the egregious cruelty
I can’t understand
why you would renege
it isn’t sound judgement
it just seems so vague

to go against good sense
which so many see
as really humane
and a good place to be

Air India can we ask you once again
spare us the sadness
don’t make it in vain
to ask you to care
to ask you to be
sentient and thoughtful
to those who today

are pulled out of freedom
and thrown in a cage
are fed to the scalpels
who dance in such rage
who bleed behind closed doors
and sigh in the dark
a prayer for the voiceless
you could make your mark

you could change your policy
and let them be
free as the birds
that fly from tree to tree
not left in small cages
and cut up and down
and left fighting for breath
as in their blood they drown

You can make the difference
you can, really can
Air India Please
just change your plan
the corporate state
let them now see
cruelty No
such a great USP
