A brief look at GMO’s

Its true I am no scientist or chemist
I really do not have an axe to grind
Yes I am a vegan
because I believe for me
its the wisest choice
I myself make
whether you agree

I have opposed the GMO’s
for almost 40 years
and “Roundup” well its name
tells all, I feel
Glyphosate is not
the bee and end all
and 40 years on
we know it for real

90% of corn canola and soya
are GM
thats the horrid burden on us all
super weeds and bugs are multiplying
nature knows best
and her final call

is to protect the soil
against erosion
to proect and guarantee that we
do not destroy just everything
inherited
and sacrifice the miracles
that be

Monsanto and the BIO tec
corporations
are richer
than some countries
and they will
destroy the earth to
make another dollar
and watch the awful pesticides
just spill

everywhere for each spill
crop yields go down
for each can its their coffers
that they raise
really they have got us by
the you know what
and it now does look likely
that it plays

right into their hands
for they are masters
technology is there’s
their patents,they
run the world with all these
sick misgivings
and sitting on our hands
we can’t even pray

not that prayers will make
the slightest difference
Monsanto has changed all of that
and they
themselves don’t understand
what they are doing
so what chance is there
not a lot, okay

at least we begin to understand the problem
chaos is created and now we
must watch as to whether nature
can put it back together
for if she can’t
goodbye humanity

on the other hand, we have apples
you can slice that wont go brown
that must have cost a fortune
they really went to town
salmon that grow 30 times faster
oh that’s great
creation has been superceded
at an alarming rate

arrogance is up there
it exists in the minds of those
who cannot make a blade of grass
but actually now pose
a greater risk
to human kind than any risk before
because we let them do it
their work we did ignore

in our world of great advances
we are looking back to see
the abyss that we crawled out of
back in history
is looming ever nearer
thanks to Monsanto
and all the other great brains
in the corporations, so

death to many non pest species
Bees and Butterflies
and many many others
the list now mystifies
the biologists and the scientists
they scratch their heads and wonder
but its too late boys
just stay quiet and listen for the thunder
