Shooting endangered species at Lake Buloke in Victoria Australia

Silhouetted against the sky
the hunters with their rifles, high
firing off the water
on Lake Buloke, quite near
to the town of Boort that’s
in Victoria which does appear
to create a general frenzy
as the ducks fly
overhead
rifles at their shoulder
bang bang so many dead
falling some endangered
a free for all alas
over 50 precious birds
such action it just crass
it shows the total lack
of due respect these hunters
they
they even leave the bodies
around
there is no way
that anyone who cares
about what’s right
and what is wrong
would ever kill those grebes
and freckled Ducks and yea a Swan
