Freckles the poor little soul

Freckles that’s his name
a dog who comes from Baltimore
some one thought it an idea
to drive off to the store
the only nasty ugly thought
was to tie him to the car
and drag him over stones and rocks
and it must have been quite far

to know what you are doing to a
voiceless little soul
who looks up to you as his guardian
instead, you take control
of all his love and emotion
and his imagination stole
disregarded all his feelings
all his agony and pain
broke his heart and broke his mind
you must have been insane

each cry each yelp
you could have stopped
you should have stopped you should
but you kept driving
imagine can we imagine
how he flopped around
just like some rag doll
sucked and pushed about
his skin and bones and muscles
and inside falling out

the skin burns anyone whose
ever burned themselves will know
the pain he must has gone through
and how the pain does grow
and how he suffers every second
of every long long day
recovering a bit by bit
which is the only way

and then this broken baby
what did you think to do
chuck him in a waste truck
waste him through and through
consign him to a landfill
amongst the swill of man
so nobody would find him
there that was your plan

but even in his frightful state
the little boy could cry
and cry he did with all his heart
and was heard by passers by
