the sea lion has caught fire
a fairly normal role

going about its business
lightly in the sea
to be captured by some human
and branded horribly

trapped and held in some
vile cage
and burned, the smell one feels
the pain, the cries
of agony
and all that, that reveals

the ugliness of humans
the brutish strength displayed
the burning of a living creature
part and parcel, of some trade

This is a wild sea creature
it doesn’t belong to you
you arse hole
