Look!
everybody
my name is “Dutch”
I belong to a guy
and what I did
was such
an enormous
anomaly
for I am not
vicious no way
but in trouble
I got.
in fact I am gentle
more gentle
than some
but what happened to me
it has left me numb
on 14th of November
I was left in Montrose
with my former owner
someone she knows
what she did
she just started
punching my lights
I’d done no wrong
I was in my rights
I all along
didn’t retaliate
no not at all
I’ve never been vicious
non one can recall
but using a metal bar
into my face
again and again
it is a disgrace
but this is, what happened
this is the case
she was just mental
she hit my face
I couldn’t ignore it
I growled, at her more
hoping to frighten her
but she hit my jaw
it just had to stop
so I bit her leg
and her buttock
and now, its me who must beg
anyone listening
now they blame me
but I’m, a good egg
that’s honestly
put me to sleep
what can I do
if you were attacked
and beaten black and blue
I just had to stop her
she was being unfair
and then call me, vicious
for just being there
when what I was doing
was protecting
and I share
the experience now with those
who may care
Don’t I have a right cant I
reveal
the truth and protect myself from someone
real
all I’ve said, is true
she’s did wrong, yes she
should be given a sentence
not euthanise me

I love it!!! I hope your poem helps save Dutch and the bad “lady” has her day!
Thank you Claudette how sweet of you to thanks me that was kind and I appreciate it very much.
How sad to hear the dog has been sentenced to death its now at appeal but it seems sensless to kill a dog who has bitten someone who was beating him with a bar, what would you expect anybody to do retaliate to try and stop the outrage
