Ashridge

I was up there in this blizzard
just me the trees and the Deer
everywhere was peaceful
its the first month of the year
although inside the car my
fingers were getting a bit cold
outside I saw this star I thought
when suddenly it rolled
and fell down on the ground
in front of me
it was a squirrel covered in snow
that I could see
that was just amazing
how did he get like that
he shook himself and scooted
like a pretty frightened rat!
the point is he had no idea I’d seen him
his embarrassment he thought was his alone
I’ve never ever seen a squirrel caked in so much snow
unless a lot fell on him or someone might have thrown
but nobody was up there just me and the car
and now we have a nice blue sky
and sun smacked clouds that are
orangey and creamy a miracle to see
1/2 an hour or so ago it was grey
amazingly
