Palm Oil Corporates you are killing us

I’m an Orangutan
I’m a wild boy
an arboreal ape
with a heart full of joy
I swing about most days
I eat on the hoof
with a nest in the canopy
and leaves for my roof
that was my thing
the wild life for me
and my brothers and sisters
our world was the tree
not a stuffy wire box
with a cage
at the front
honestly humans
what kind of stunt
are you pulling
to put me in such
a foul frame
left in a draught
with a sick human name

fed on stale fruit
and left here to be
frustrated, sedated
nauseated that’s me
once brachiation
was how I got by
from branch to branch
oh! boy I did fly
now all cramped up
in a dull aching state
I sit here for hours
its a place that I hate
a cage is no place
for a wild one to view
the trees, its the trees
and the canopy too

what you have done with
your palm oil, is kill
creatures like me
we have now had our fill
of your ignorance
and, how you treat wild
boys like me
you are killing us slowly
its purgatory
and what do you get in return
go on say
lots of fat dollars
yea you can pay
yourselves, and like kings live
in mansions I know
but the fact that your selling
what has had to grow
and its wiping the forest
off of the land
the biodiversity
please understand
creation knew these things
great balance was had
thousands of creatures
and now, well its sad
darkness stagnation
and all of us gone
the light doesn’t create
now sadly upon
the land
soil erosion
and flooding has come
the death of so many
your rule of thumb
is just about money
paper that’s all
made out of wood pulp
we hear them fall
crash into the litter
the cries break our hearts
but few of you hear us
just a few farts
sit in their board rooms
with their Remy Martin
pale faced millionaires
who stay out of the sun
wasting creation
ensuring the poor
remain in the depths
and their cries just ignore
