A trip to the market
Jonker Walk Lives
crowds amble by
the bustle just gives
a lift to an evening
in sweltering heat
with all sorts of products
lined up down the street
the Ice Kachang
the chendol and tarts
of pineapples, dodol
that pull at the hearts
the singers
the dancers
the phone sets
the toys
the swords
and the bling
with its massive rewards
almost anything
is now put on sale here
and crowds come along
to eat and to look
and to hear a great song
i felt like Cinderella hoping that I
would get back before 12
or end up in some pie
the proverbial pumpkin
for possibly they
but the girls did their utmost
to just make my day
a wonderful one
