Gelatine

In many ways man’s processes
just sicken me
inventive
he’s inventive
that’s for sure
but the abyss to which
he stoops
to do his bidding
kind of leaves me
panting on his floor

for the animal earthling’s
do not escape, him sadly
its not just on their flesh and fat
they chew
its also skin, the horns
the hooves and bones, what can we do
connective tissue
organs, and of course those intestines
from cows, sheep, pigs and horses
and even dead cows spleens
and its all cooked up
and processed
in their wonderful machines

reduced down to a dust,
or made up into flakes
wasting all that energy
for that is all it takes
and dollops of this disgusting stuff
are boiled up in some pot
coloured with an azo dye
and flavoured, so we’ve got
Jelly for the little one’s
it wobbles on their plate
we throw a great big party
as devils incarnate
we then add refined sugar
ah! that’s the stuff of dreams
and kill a calf and steal the cream
No nothings, what it seems

then used, to clarify our wine
our apple and grape juice
put into marshmallows
they cook the golden goose!
yoghurts, trifles, aspics
jams and margarine
cream cheeses, used in fat reduced foods
Oh! its never green
for the animals are suffering
day in and day out
they get short shift
from the public
and their souls are
lost, no doubt

There is Frelatin
from apple seeds
and agar from seaweed
and kudzu from Wisteria
that also grows, and indeed
through the ignorance of an American
who saw it in Japan
and took it back to the fertile Plains
where it didn’t grow to plan
it bit into foundations
through peoples homes it grew
up through free ways
up through side walks
no one wanted to
see it in their gardens
they forgot its healing power
as it cracked the concrete viaducts
and climbed up many a tower

so gelatine was easy
animals expendable
kill the buggers no one sees it
its all behind, closed doors
drag their innards out of them
call it gelatine
put it in kid’s confectionery
for years that’s where its been
how sick we are
how ignorant
allowing industry
to fill our kids with all this shit
the kids we love
they be
fed on this sick material
the corporates, and they
are richer than you will ever be
showing our kids the way
advertising all these sweets
and telling mums how good
and of course as treats
they are buying them
because they are told they should
Gelatine is a cheap and nasty product
the animals should really be alive
not slaughtered in dire circumstances
sadly,
Why can’t we let these poor sweet souls survive
they do not want to die
to clear your Shiraz
how ever you may like the stuff
okay
Men could filter it with proper filters
but that of course is too easy
so they carry on
for what is truly
the spineless corporate way
