He’s probably the oldest
inhabitant here
And has taken on man
and has won
He’s a valiant soul
with a deal of control
But a lot now
die under the gun
Tuberculosis a wasting disease
Born of the bovine brigade
Has surfaced once more
At the old dairy door
And Badgers have joined the parade
Shy rather secretive
Brock survives well
But lately mans back
on his trail
He stands accused
And is being abused
By some Farmers
who say it is Hell
Where there are badgers
TB is showing
Farmers point fingers
They say it is growing
He is forced back
to the rear of the wall
He’s the culprit it seems
From the newly formed school
Of farmers it isn’t these landfill
Sites No!
Nor the Diets of Badgers
And so it’s a blow
He’s probably the oldest
inhabitant here
But he’s really in trouble
it now would appear
It’s all circumstantial
the evidence here
But the innocent
sadly have found
There’s not all that many
who really accept
And stick up
for the Badgers around
But I take exception
to people who slaughter Wild animals
it will not do
They can continue
to bust every sinew
But I remain steadfast and true
Why Mr Badger
he was here first
He is wild,
he instinctively knows
He isn’t like man
with his cool Business plan
He is wild and it honestly shows
Cow’s for example
are rarely fed milk
They are not udder fed and we know
That children not breast fed are
Weaker by far
And get weaker
as long as they grow
Weak immune systems
go under quite fast
And diseases arise as we see
Farmers who point guns
at Badgers, alas
Must consider
this missive from me
Anti-biotics
abuse of them means
Like humans bacterium will
Take hold and cows
have been dosed up on them
And now we must witness the kill
Not level blame
where its unfounded
For to bother
this creature does show
That we’ve learned very little
in all of these years
And perhaps
it’s the cow that must go
{and when it stops giving milk it does go pretty damn smartly)
