Pat Down at Darwin

The Pat Down at Darwin
Came as a shock
Fill in this form
please
The guy looked like Spock
the Vulcan,
I said to him
“Do not sqeeze me”
My muscles are tender
He replied
“we shall see”
Once again from my
wheelchair
I, explained
from my heart
if he mean’t, to squeeze me
Then he couldn’t start
His pat down
then he agreed
he wouldn’t, squeeze me
and infact did his pat down
extremely gently.

Look I do understand
there are people about
prepared to bomb planes
of that there’s no doubt
But some of the methods
now being used
is leaving the innocent
feeling abused
There’s always
a balance, and Darwin, I feel
Should distance itself
from the new US deal
The airport gestapo who dare
to impose
a threat to our freedom
right under our nose.

The 2 or 3, officious,
young men
who lead some away
to be checked out again
This time for explosives
and all types, they checked
the businessman
housewife
not faintly suspect
You can see
from their faces
a worrying look
embarrassing even
even my book?
is checked for a minute
amount of cordite
but today there was none
all were clearly al’right

Some took it well
in their own little mind
Imagining James Bond
And what they might find
Others were clearly upset
to be led
Away to be checked
At least thats what they said
But its purely random
Thats what they say
That may be a rule
But I don’t think so
Today.
