A day out with my friend Colin

The Hills were Colin’s true weekend retreat, He said

Gooseberry Hill a rather rugged place

We visited his Italian friend  Ashanti in her garden

full of wonder and   infact instead

Guava’s, Juicy Pears and sweet Persimmons

a dozen  Bantam eggs, and  lots more too

Some tasty Italian Tomatoes, and some squashes

and some rocket and a cauliflower or two.

Off we went to meet his Dad and there he was

An engineer who knew a thing or two

Working on the hydro plants in Malaya long ago

But still aware of exactly what to do

He offerred me a can of good old Coopers

Icy cold and I went and used his Loo

We walked around his garden

And met his dear old dog

And listened to the tales he liked to tell

Clearly he missed his wife

A man quite free of strife

Upright, and on form and looking well
