Birding in Miankaleh Wildlife refuge

In the province of Mazandaran
Miankaleh
A peninsula packed with the
greatest array
Of wild life, migratory birds
a great feast
of Mammals, and reptiles
and Fish, every beast
A Unesco Biosphere Reserve
under threat
From Industry and Tourism
The greatest debt
From Hunters and Fishermen
killing for free
They want to develop
This area and
Put a Hotel complex
on this green land
Right in the middle
where migratory birds
Come from afar
There are no words
To describe this madness
Poor judgment to boot
Hunters are killing
greed at the root
The creatures had
no fear of man
which is why
They are easy targets
And so many die
Natural environments
should be protected
Hunters have one mind
They just expected
To walk in and destroy
and thats what they do
And it cannot be right
But the Government woo
These people it seems
a short sighted view
Flamingo’s, Black Francolin
Falcons, all there
Coots Purple Swamp Hens
With white headed ducks share
The Caspian Aura
endangered maybe
But so little help
From the Hunt fraternity
With different agenda’s
What can we expect
They pays their money
And they elect
To kill just what moves
A sick point of view
But its happening everywhere
And in Miankaleh too
