Vernal Equinox (Alban Eilir)

The Vernal Equinox
Provides the thinkers
Of the light
Thats being drawn back to us
The dynamics of delight
From the 18 of March
The Alder
represented by the
That tree
Its reign to dry up Winters Floods
And open the veil
To see

Between the physical and spiritual realms
And protects our trail
Watery excesses and anxiety
Doubt in yourselves and others
It protects us constantly
Its energy is masculine
Vernostonus personified
The Alder was his tree of trees
On its dark foliage relied

Bran carried several alder sprigs
A red dye made from the bark
Its the warrior in the tree
That clearly leaves his mark
Bran’s head ofcourse was buried
At the Tower of London where
The need was to protect the land
And its there the Ravens share

Their own association of protection
Till today
Despite their wings a being clipped
So they cannot fly away
Druids think of foxes
Around the Alder tree
Ruled by the god Neptune
The great god of the sea

The alder needs its feet wet
In the battle of the trees
The Alder always fought in front
As a shield its there to please
Akin to water spirits
Fearn is its Ogham name
Alnus Glutinosa Its latin claim
To fame

Blue sky cometh often
With white cushions and with grey
Strong winds rock the branches
Almost everyday
Putting stress on the golden ones
The trumpets daffodil
That clump together happily
Accepting of the thrill

The cherry may have last years leaves
But most of the trees are bare
Spindly little fingers
Budding everywhere
Latticed boughs let the eye
See
The light form of the sky
Grape hycianth and marigolds
Are asking of us why

Daintiness is evident
The rosemary’s lilac flower
Clings on tips around the bush
Purposeful each hour
A verdant carpet cloaks the earth
As the vibrant wild plants grow
Softening the warming earth
Where yet more plants to show

A glistening apparent
On the barks the trunks the boughs
That get a right old shaking
From the squally showers
The sun enters Aries
The astrological year
What is the Vernal Equinox
When day and night appear
Equal no matter where you live
On gods earth today
The sun and moon in perfect balance
The cardinal cross they say

A time of holistic healing
Chiron in the sky
We have seen such fragmentation
Brexit by and by
Healing though is coming
The spirit from the sun
New life new beginnings
When the day is done
Alban Eilir light of the Earth
Warming all the loam
Crocuses and a anenomes
Now leaving their home
A sudden descriptive spirit
And sacredness around
The consciousness of inanimates
Now clearly do abound

Druids see creation
As the egg’s creative force
Life giving
For just everyone
Its seasonal ofcourse
Everything is waking up
Following the rule
What is the great significance
The vernal overhaul

And each evening comes to be
And the silhouettes of trees
Shivering and chattering
Wheeling ducking seize
That moment as lights fading
As each twilight comes to be
As the canopy of heaven
With its light force all can see
Gesticulating twirling
Pitching too and fro
Oestra with such majesty
The immortal one you know

Conceive support enliven
Reanimate with zest
The vital spark is leaving
The hearts blood is the test
The trees have almost disappeared
Night time it is here
A short rest till tomorrow
When the light floods back
To cheer
