Awelfa’s front garden

Pretty pink roses

sculptured and true

unbelievable yellows

What can I do

no shade of yellow

might ever have been

possible really

out from the green

a tall Gladioli a sword scimitar

bold standing upright

wind swept,  a star

in the making she be

marigolds they

leap out of the gravel

and stones it’s their way

of appearing just wild    really

the apple tree

bursts into the sky

through the brambles whose plea

for light and for sunshine

they both,  now share

our garden is beautiful

and the fey know we’re there

there’s a pear in the corner

Crocosmia’s  too

its fluorescent orange

great bunches they do

proliferate strongly

with such subtlety of  beautiful orange

amazingly

in the air of the  mountains

where butterflies skim

where all kinds of wild birds

amazingly trim

skirt every which way

the chuffs and the rest

The robins and sparrows
all beautifully dressed
