The forest made by the godly
had everything and we
understood it’s splendour
its balances all free
uncompromising animals
and plant life were profound
But Palm oil on the other hand
in vermin we were drowned
rats and cobras owls and more
much cheap Labour
and a war
of true attrition and a loss
of habitat.
