Cleo

Those eye lashes
Sweep upwards
Gloriously and she
The officer,
good at discharge
She came and said to me
You are leaving us
And it pleases me
To be the one to say
Of all discharges it pleases me
To see you on your way

A joyous smile
A lovely soul
Her job is clearly one
Of brightening the patients up
With her little piece of sun
With verve and obvious confidence
Her deportment too a constancy
Dressed in black and bringing joy
That she did for me

In control of discharging people
Pure positivity
With This vocation she’s clearly off the dial
Armed with honesty
Luton and Dunstable Hospital
1500 or so
Patients will at some time be discharged
And the number probably grow

But Cleo takes it all in hand
With real diplomacy
She gives the message loud and clear
And I must say she moved me
My old heart it was faltering
But those eyelashes
They
fluttered as she delivered
The words Rex you are free today.

Thank you Cleo.
I shall never forget that
