The poor old hens

Chickens in cages  a man made idea

it goes against Nature, creating fear

debasing the poor hens

all losing ground

bound to impoverish

and neglect, I have found

spoiling to their detriment man is unkind

defiling the chickens with his sick mind

injury trauma, the battery life

Chickens in cages

Causing  them massive strife

Crippling,weakening, bruising and more

we vandalise,  life cramped up and sore

Of course we demoralise and we deplete

the soul of the chicken and its all for their meat

for their eggs, for their feathers

we refuse to redress

we guarantee danger

the asylum of stress

the battery cage, our violence we share

and its all to make profit

from having them there.
