“Sheru”

There he lay
So quietly
In a slum area of town
Really very much the worse for wear
And was clearly down

His family were poor traders
No money for the vet
And they called animal aid
Unlimited they bet
The angels would come over
And surely they did and they
Saw one of his eyes
Had popped out little to say
It kind of slays ones intellect the thoughts
As to the way he felt
Lying there so helpless
With the cards that he’d been dealt

Arriving at The hospital
Sedated and prepared was he
Under went an operation
And the surgery
Removed the eye apparent
And when he awoke
Was treated to love and kindness
From all the angel folk

The sari clad
Their kisses
Their patting and their kind
Words they gave him soupy foods
And helped him with his mind
Helped him heal organically
And is he fronts them al
Loves sitting in a bill of water
And comes when you call

Just loves being loved
And Petted and he sees
Out of one eye easily
Ads easy to please
He runs about as if he is in command
Of where he goes
Who would have thought
A few weeks ago
That death was all he sought.
